Assistants' Course
2011 Course Dates: August 8 to August 18
The Foundation for Montessori Education hosts an annual Assistants’ Course each summer. The intention of this course is to help interested adults become able assistants in a Montessori Casa dei Bambini. It is also designed to highlight the important work of the assistant as an aid to the child’s development. All are welcome.
The course lectures will consist of study from the areas of:

Course work will consist of lectures, discussions, and submission of three written papers. An AMI Children’s House Assistants Course Certificate will be issued, based upon 100% attendance.
The recommended books for the assistants’ course are: The Child in the Family, Education for a New World, The Secret of Childhood, and The Absorbent Mind. The author of these books is Dr. Maria Montessori. The books may be purchased at selected bookstores or at the Foundation for Montessori Education.
The fee is $825.00 + HST, of which $50.00 will be a non-refundable deposit to hold a place. The course will run with a minimum of 15 people and a maximum of 30. To ensure a place in this course submit the registration form and deposit as soon as possible.
